Brownlee Park - It's official!

ree

Brownlee Park (the green space on Kenwick Road at the corner with Brownlee Avenue) has been officially recognized as a park by the city. As part of our efforts obtaining grant money to have neighborhood signs installed, we were in contact with the city regarding other neighborhood improvements. The park was part of that discussion. The city generously donated this park sign! It should be installed sometime in July, hopefully before our upcoming cookout so we can have a grand unveiling. The park designation is important and means more than just a new sign. The city has assigned a planner to the park to come up with a comprehensive improvement plan. This will bring other resources to our little park and make sure it remains maintained.

Grant money from the Neighborhood Partnership Grant that SEMO received this year will be put towards new neighborhood signs, similar to those you might see in Berwick or other Columbus neighborhoods. A big thank you to Pete Connor and all the other neighbors who made this possible!
